Jon was born and raised in Rochester, MN. He is a PentEpalrencan: he has served Assembly of God, Episcopal, Lutheran, Anglican, and Organic/Simple churches.

Jon suffers from (or enjoys) ADES (Attention Deficit Employment Syndrome). He has been a farm hand, dish washer, restaurant host, car washer, dietician, janitor, cook, valet, computer assembly worker, handyman, youth pastor, music pastor, interum pastor, assistant pastor, senior pastor, barrista, ski instructor, ski photographer, industrial painter, small business owner, private school teacher, window cleaner, freelance graphic/website designer and illustrator, snow plow operator, audio engineer, storyteller, presentation skills coach, and special events venue manager and event coordinator.

Jon received his BA in pastoral ministry from North Central University (Minneapolis) in 1990. He is also a certified html designer, Advanced Communicator Gold & Advanced Leader Bronze Toastmaster. He has won several Toastmaster contests including Division D Tall Tales in 2009 and District 15 Evaluation Contest in 2010.

Jon loves to read books, hike in the mountains, watch scifi movies, drink chai tea, and eat chocolate chip cookies hot out of the oven with cold milk. Jon has been married for 19 years to his wonderful wife, Cheryl, and they have two wonderful teenagers, Jonson and Jo.

something few people know about you: i was one of the last rH negative blood types requiring a full blood transfusion after being born (a cure came out soon after)
